Numerical Analysis on the Optimization of Evaporative Cooling Performance for Permeable Pavements

The phenomenon of urban heat islands is mainly caused by the increase artificially hardened surfaces in cities, and it can be alleviated using permeable pavements to dissipate latent heat. There are many disagreements on cooling effect pavements, at present, still needs more tests modeling prove this view. This paper proposes a 3-D transient model based transfer theory porous media accurately evaluate performance pavements. influences surface thermal parameters, storage depths, spraying schemes analyzed. results show that compared with peak temperature dry state, saturated significantly reduced.
